Mission Statement MCCSS is
an ecumenical non profit development
organization committed to Christian
values, to promote human rights through
education, empowerment of the marginalized
poor especially the dalits and involve
the participation and leadership of
women through women’s groups
thereby realizing its goals adopting
a holistic approach and by networking
with rights oriented community based
organizations for advocacy.

urban poor and the oppressed women
in Chennai should lead a life of dignity,
live with harmony and peace in the
society, enjoy social justice and
attain a sustainable participatory
development.

The General Body
consists of 34 representatives from
13 mainline Church denominations and
4 Christian Service Organization.
The Archbishop of Roman Catholic Church
and the CSI Bishop of Madras are the
joint chairpersons. From among the
members of the General Body, a 14
member Executive Committee is elected.
The General Body lays down the policies
of the organization.
The Executive Committee
meets once in 3 months to guide and
manage the overall activities of MCCSS.
The Working Committee
elected by the Executive Committee
meets periodically and implements
the decisions of the Executive Committee,
and also attends to urgent matters
of the organization.
